The 3rd Session of “Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival” Grandly Held

On the evening of Jan. 29, 2011, the 3rd Session of “Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival” was grandly held in Jinsha Site Museum, a great event sponsored by the Chengdu Municipal People’s Government and organized by the Municipal Bureau of Culture, the People’s Government of Qingyang District and Jinniu District with assistance from Jinsha Site Museum under Chengdu Museum. Leaders on the ceremony included Yang Xingping, the vice president of CPPCC Chengdu, Shi Jiang, the vice secretary of Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, Zhu Shuxi, the secretary of Party Leadership Group and director general of Chengdu Bureau of Culture and Wang Bangjun, its deputy director general, Zhang Xinyu, the deputy head of the Government of Jinniu District, Lai Shimei, the deputy head of the Government of Qingyang District, and Wang Yi, the president of Chengdu Museum. 

The opening ceremony was heaving with audiences and the stage was decorated in a historical way. While all audiences were anticipating, the ceremony began with a dancer coming on the stage, dressed in long sleeves and accompanied with music. All in a moment, Jinsha Site, a blessed land of ancient Shu 3,000 years ago, was immersed in happiness, fantasy and romance. Some singing and dancing shows with ancient Shu culture, like the Dance of Jinsha, the Song of Jinsha, Back to Jinsha unveiled the opening ceremony. Leaders including Yang Xingping and Shi Jiang as well as guests announced the official beginning of the 3rd Session of “Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival” by striking a stone resonator with wooden stick, which sounded in a way as if it were communicating with the heaven. The wishes of blessing and praying were delivered to everyone on site. 

     At the last, leaders including Yang Xingping and Shi Jiang, and other guests visited the special lanterns in the Museum, the Fire Dance and Fire Dragon Show. While interacting with audiences, they spend a cozy, romantic and unforgettable night of Jinsha.

On the night of the opening ceremony, no accident on safety or health was reported thanks to the orderly management of the Museum, and its success laid a firm foundation for the zero-accident completion of the festival assigned by the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee and Government and the Bureau of Culture.
