Launching ceremony for Blood Sacrifice, latest book of science fiction writer Wang Jinkang held in Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum

On the afternoon of October 25, 2012, Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum welcomed in the first new book publishing event, the launching ceremony for Blood Sacrifice and the seminar on Wang Jinkang's works. The historical science fiction novel "Blood Sacrifice", jointly launched by Sichuan Literature and Art Publishing House, and Science Fiction World Magazine, is a novel jointly authored by Mr. Wang Jinkang and the famous poet Yang Zi of the Qiang ethnic group (known as Yang Guoqing).

The novel displayed their ingenuity after the field visit in the Qiang Eco-Cultural Preservation Experimental Area with Jinsha site as the background. Mr. Wang Jinkang is the winner of the Galaxy Award for Chinese Science Fiction and the Nebula Award for World Chinese Science Fiction Association.

"Blood Sacrifice" tells a twisty and bizarre story of how a Qiang poet who can feel the spirituality of ancestral relics manages to take out two national treasures - the Sun and Immortal Birds Gold Foil and the Gold Scepter - from the Jinsha Site Museum and the Sanxingdui Museum respectively, abducts a female reporter, takes her to a snow-capped mountain for a blood sacrifice to appease the ancestors and pray for his ethnic group. Science fiction writer Wang, assuming the role of Sherlock Holmes, cooperates with the police to track down the poet. This novel presents vivid descriptions of characters with numerous suspensions, and Mr. Wang Jinkang applies his extensive knowledge in anthropology, DNA and ethnology to explore the survival state of the ancient people and the historical origin of the State of Shu. This novel is an ode to the splendor of the Shu civilization and offers readers the chance to travel back in time to the days of Shu prosperity and experience the rich flavors of Shu culture.
