The exhibition of A Galaxy of Jades at Jinsha: Exhibition of Jade Culture during the Xia-Shang Periods was held at Jinsha Site Museum on September 24, 2017. Exhibiting 250 pieces (sets) of exquisite jade ware of the Xia-Shang periods unearthed from around the country, it was the first centralized and the largest-scale display in China of unearthed jade ware from the Xia-Shang periods. At the same time, the “International Symposium on Jade Culture during the Xia-Shang Periods” was held, and the academic monograph Jinsha Jade Work I - a study on unearthed jade tablets from the Jinsha Site was published. Experts of jade culture from home and abroad were joined together to review the latest academic achievements and findings of Xia-Shang jade wares.
The year 2017 marked the 10th anniversary of the opening of Jinsha Site Museum, therefore, this special exhibition as well as the relevant academic activities will take Jinsha Site as a starting point, and trace the exquisite history of ancient Shu, exhibiting the inclusiveness and openness of Chengdu.
