“One Ticket” to Sichuan Sanxingdui & Jinsha and Joint Application for List of World Heritage

Beginning at the National Day this year, visitors, with one ticket, could go sightseeing in Sanxingdui Museum and Jinsha Site Museum, the two ancient Shu civilizations. On Sep. 23, 2014, the 4th Cultural Tourism Development Meeting was held in Deyang, on which, 9 tourism projects signed a contract with total value up to RMB 5.35 billion. Amongst them, Sanxingdui Museum, Guanghan, Sichuan, and Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum entered into an “Integrated Chengdu-Deyang” Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement, which covers academic research, display and exhibition, heritage application, publicity and promotion, and ticketing. It would be a key step for both sides to promote the protection and inheritance of ancient Shu culture by leveraging their similarity and continuality in culture.
The Agreement stipulates that since the National Day of this year, visitors may book the joint ticket of Sanxingdui Museum and Jinsha Site Museum online at a price of RMB 120, RMB 42 saved than purchased separately. Besides, the both sides agree to sell tickets of the other side at its premium. Then, visitors may purchase the ticket of the other museum when they are at one at a discount of 20%.
On promoting protection and inheritance of ancient Shu culture, Sanxingdui Museum and Jinsha Site Museum have reached many substantial agreements, according to which, Sanxingdui Site and Jinsha Site are bounded up and named as the Ancient Shu Site for the purpose of joint application for list of world heritage to UNESCO as a way to consolidate the global influence of ancient Shu culture. Moreover, both sides will develop cooperation in academic studies and talent cultivation in cultural relics protection and repair, and hold symposium on Sanxingdui culture and ancient Shu culture research when time permits.
In addition to the “alliance” of Sanxingdui and Jinsha, other projects signed on the meeting were also a “combination of culture and tourism”. Luojiang, the possessor of the General’s Academy of Painting & Calligraphy, will establish partnership with an investment company to build a hotspring hotel in the name of the Academy; while Shifang, famous for its wedding culture of Hongdou Village, will also build a wedding culture base with a cultural investment enterprise.
At present, “combination of culture and tourism” has become the development idea of Deyang tourism industry that the related persons expressed, Deyang will push forward the integration of tourism, culture, industry, towns and villages coordinately under the development idea of “Greater Culture, Greater Tourism” and accelerate the transition of single business form to integration with other forms.
Next, Deyang will establish a batch of “Deyang” cultural tourism brands in consideration of its local cultural tourism resources. Now, arrangement for the 6 brands, “Mysterious Ancient Shu” Cultural Experience, “Beautiful Deyang” Urban Landscape, “Color Three Kingdoms” Cultural Tracing, “Mt. Longmen” Leisure Holiday, “Thanks to the World” Earthquake Ruins, and “Return to Nature” New Villages have been done.
