Askar Akayev, Former President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Visited the Jinsha Site Museum

On the morning of Oct. 14, 2012, autumn swept away the haze of the past with a blue sky and pale clouds. The city flower of Chengdu, hibiscus, planted in the park, was in full bloom. The former president of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Askar Akayev visited the Jinsha Site Museum, with his delegation, accompanied by Li Ping, Deputy Curator of the Museum.
Mr. Akayev is very fond of ancient Chinese culture. He proposed the visit to Jinsha Site, claiming that he had been attracted by its reputation. Mr. Akayev and the delegation visited the garden area, the Hall of Relics and the Exhibition Hall successively. On the way to the Hall of Relics, the golden permanent symbol at the Sculpture Square of the Sun Bird formed delightful contrasts with pink hibiscus flowers under the sun. Mr. Akayev has had pictures taken with the logo with delight.
Stepping into the Exhibition Hall# 1, Mr. Akayev was deeply shocked by the environmental restoration semi-scene-painting of the Jinsha era. He said: "The semi-scene-painting is very beautiful. It is the first time that I have seen such a beautiful semi-scene-painting.” The “Sun Bird" and the gold mask also left a deep impression on the delegation.
The visit ended with pleasure. Mr. Akayev expressed his satisfaction with the whole process and wrote in the guest book: "The cultural relics in the Jinsha Site Museum are very different from other civilizations, and the exhibitions are also very good and great. It is a marvelous museum and a great historical museum."
