Delegation of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam Visited the Jinsha Site Museum

    On the morning of Sep. 5, 2010, the delegation of the International Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Construction of Vietnam, led by Minister Nguyen Hong Quan of Vietnamese Ministry of Construction, visited the Jinsha Site Museum.

    During the visit, the delegation kept on singing praises for the Jinsha Site Museum and said that Jinsha Site Museum was rare for its large area of display and protection, exquisite artifacts, the new and unique forms of display and especially its clever fusion of ancient site and modern city through the form of green lands of parks.

    After the visit, Li Ping, Vice President of Chengdu Museum, and Wang Fang, Director of the Exhibition Research Department held a discussion with the delegation. The two sides had friendly and in-depth exchanges on the protection and excavation of the sites and the construction and management of museums, etc. The delegation said that the main purpose of the visit was to study the experience of protection and development for the Ruins of the Imperial Palace in Hanoi, the 900th site in World Heritage List of UNESCO. Just like the Jinsha Site, the Ruins of the Imperial Palace in Hanoi are also located in the center area of the city. The experience of protection and development of the Jinsha Site will have profound influence and great guiding significance to it.

    Finally, the two sides expressed their hopes that this visit was an opportunity to learn from each other in terms of culture, arts and exhibitions, and to learn from the others and make progress together.
