Release Time: 2017-10-24
(A report by Xu Mengxi from the Renmin Net) On the night of Jan. 28, a big ceremony was held to announce the opening of Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival 2014 on the main stage of Jinsha Site Museum Park. Jinsha Sun Festival began and will continue to Feb. 16-Jan.17 in lunar calendar.
The Road of Holy Fire, the Sacrifice to the Water Spirit...Lanterns presented on the Jinsha Sun Festival combined modern animation and games with typical patterns and symbols of ancient Shu culture. It is learned that over 70 lantern groups were set up, including more than 20 of large size and 5 of supersize. Almost 20,000 strings of LED lamps were consumed to produce the atmosphere, a record in the history of the festival. Besides, this festival will represent the “Jinsha Sacrificial Ceremony”, which will be showed in Jan. 1, and Jan. 15 in lunar calendar.
Besides beautiful Korean lanterns, amazing dances, original Korean food, there were also hills and rivers of Hmong Village and waterwheel and drum-tower created with lightscribe and lanterns in Guizhou Park, showing appealing charm of Guizhou. The inheritor of embroidery, batik, lusheng (a reed-pipe wind instrument), clay whistle and silver ornament showed their skills and works on the scenes. And songs of the Dong minority will be on the live show. What’s more, visitors could also see the exhibition of Nuo culture—the first and biggest one in Sichuan. To commemorate the old Nuo culture in an artistic way on the land where the ancestors of Jinsha ever lived and worked for generations is to pray for the luck and happiness of the next year.
At the same time, this festival represented the tradition of strolling around the flower market during the Spring Festival of Chengdu, creating a “Jinsha flower street”. There was a round stage with three big tulip sculptures as the backdrop. It was the first time to use fresh cut flowers to make the flower sculpture outdoor in the winter, which made the flowers more resplendent.
