Free Admission to A Number of Chengdu Museums on the International Museum Day

May 18 is chosen as the International Museum Day. To greet its 38th celebration, on May 18 of this year, some of the key museums including Sichuan Museum, Wuhou Shrine Museum and Jinsha Site Museum offered free admission and various activities so that visitors could open their mind in joys.
“A Bit of Sichuan Museum”, a theme activity initiated by Sichuan Museum, invited the expert on Bashu culture, Yuan Tingdong for a lecture of How You Feel to Museums in the lecture hall of Sichuan Museum at 2:30p.m., May 18, 2014. Besides, “A Bit of Sichuan Museum” consisting of some parenting education activities was held. At the same time, a hand-copied newspaper contest was organized in Jinsha Site Museum, titled as “Describing Jinsha with Words? Introducing Ancient Shu with Paintings”. In response, Wuhou Shrine Museum arranged a series of activities, too, for instance, “Raiders of the Lost Ark” —Code Scanning for Gifts, and Three Kingdom Cosplay.
To ensure every visitor was guided, Wuhou Shrine Museum and Jinsha Site Museum provided “Voice Instructor Service” that a special QR code was pasted before some exhibits, by scanning which to follow the official account, visitors could learn the stories behind them.
The reporter also learned that many other museums in Chengdu had provided free admission on the International Museum Day in addition to the three mentioned above in different ways, like free admission with ticket, getting a ticket with ID card and ticket issuing by dayparting.
