The Silk Road Starts in Chengdu
As one of the oldest and renowned historical and cultural cities in China, Chengdu has played an indelible and important role in the process of China's foreign exchange. A number of "Chengdu-made" cultural relics have been found on the Silk Road. In recent years with the rising of the "Silk Road Economic Zone," Chengdu revived.
By gathering the Northern Silk Road, the Southern Silk Road and the Maritime Silk Road, the Jinsha Sun Festival guided people a journey of space from Qin to the Two Han Dynasties, via the Tang and Song Dynasties to the Yuan and Ming Dynasties, from Chengdu to the world. More than 30 groups of color lanterns and thousands of LED lamp strings were used to show the long culture of the Silk Road and make the session the most cultural one: the oldest international road in China—the Southern Silk Road; the longest and refined road—the Northern Silk Road…on the festival, lantern artists were also invited to reproduce the enchanting makeup of the ladies in Tang Dynasty according to paintings. The “Empress Wu Mei Niang” is just beside us!
