Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival on Feb. 17 Representing the “Silk Road” with Lanterns

The annual sun festival is a great event of culture to the local citizens. On Feb. 12, the reporter learned on the “Media Press of Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival 2015 & Dancing with the Gods-African Exquisite Carving Art” Exhibition that the sun festival would be held in the Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum from Feb. 17 to Mar. 8, with “Silk Road” as its theme to show the ancient stories with lanterns, performance, exhibition and flowers.
As a highlight of the sun festival every year—the theme lantern exhibition would bring visitors to a journey of space rewalking on the “Silk Road” with over 30 lantern groups and LED lamp strings representing the Southern, the Northern and the Maritime Silk Roads. They are respectively named as the “Flowery Jinguan City”, “Wisdom of the Silk Road”, “Retracing the Southern Silk Road”, “Journey in the Desert” and “Sailing”.
In a classical manner, every night, the lantern groups of “Retracing the Southern Silk Road” would present 3D Light Show with the charm of science and technology. A 3D roll painting unfolds itself from east to west, gradually showing the map of the Silk Road, and also the Sun Bird, the treasure of the Jinsha Site Museum and the logo of China cultural heritage…
From the 1st day to the 6th day and the 15th day of the New Year, comedians in Sichuan will gather here for shows; foods and snacks from different cities and countries will be sold on the “Silk Road, Journey of Food”, satisfying both your eyes and tongue.
