Dream to Rome---an all-round experience of Roman culture

The exhibition brings together 233 cultural relics from nine museums--the Colosseum in Rome, the Palatino Museum, the Golden Palace, the Diocletian Baths of the National Museum of Rome, the Massimo Baths Palace of the Roman National Museum, the Roman Parliament Square Museum, the Roman Civilization Museum, the Florence Archaeological Museum and Siena Archaeological Museum. The cultural relics include marble statues, architectural components, bronze ware, gold ware, glass ware, and earthenware, etc., many of which come to China for the first time. These exquisite artifacts embody the cultural and artistic achievements during the peak and glorious time of the Roman Empire, providing a good opportunity for the audience to enjoy the heritage treasures of the Roman Empire.

In order to make the majority of Chinese audiences feel the splendor of ancient Roman civilization, the contents of the exhibition will be planned professionally by the Italian archaeological experts, and the form of the exhibition will be completed together by the Italian design team and Chinese professionals. The exhibition will not only display a large number of fine sculptures and architectural components related to the important buildings of the Roman Empire, such as the Colosseum, the Golden Palace, the Pantheon, and the Constantine Arc de Triomphe, etc., but also will design a time travel shuttling among the famous Romanian architectures by using a large number of 3D images and multimedia. By using the clues of the important events in the history of the Roman Empire, the design will connect the Roman emperors and the characters with the commemorative buildings they built. And through the display of fine cultural relics, the Roman Empire's politics, economy, military, social life are linked together, presenting the Chinese audience with a magnificent picture of the Roman Empire, showing its brilliant artistic and cultural achievements, and bringing a refreshing and new experience for the audience.

Planted in fertile soil—the Museums enjoy a great success

As one of the countries with the largest number of world heritage sites, the Italian heritage and museums business benefit from this legendary fertile soil, continuing to produce new flowers of success. Today, the first Sunday of each month is designated as a "museum day", when the public can get a free access to visit the Italian National Museum, archaeological sites and art galleries. The Colosseum, the Florence Uffizi Art Museum and the ancient city Pompeii, etc. are all among the free list, which shows the country's attention to the museum industry. In Rome, the historical monuments can be seen everywhere, making the city like a huge "natural museum".

Roman Colosseum - the stage of the imperial dominance

The Colosseum, also known as the Colosi Colosseum, is located in the heart of Rome, Italy today, and is the largest round Roman amphitheater. Get into this, brush over bricks of the first century AD, and you can still feel its majestic spirits. Now, here is a museum, where you seem to be able to see the heroic picture of the wild beast fighting with gladiators. Of course, you can also indulge in the fantasy that the angel-like Audrey Hepburn in "Roman Holiday" gently passing away left her beautiful shadow.

Roman National Museum – the holy land for cultures

The Roman National Museum is called the holy land for cultures, because it is not composed of a building, but consists of four branches: the Diocletian Baths, the Massimo, the Altemps, and the Crypta Balbi. It collects world-class treasures of all kinds of ancient arts, among which we are most familiar with the sculpture of the god of war, Ludwig and the statue Discobolos, of a man holding an iron disc.

The Italian Parliament Square Museum - the past glory of the Royal Plaza

The Royal Plaza, as the name implies, consists of a series of commemorative squares and were built in succession by Trajan, Augustus, and Caesar from 42 BC to AD 112. Among them, the Caesar Square, the Augustus Square, the Nerva Square and the Trajan Square are named after ancient Roman emperors. Once, it was the last empire parliament square in Rome; but now besides some of the pillars of the Ulpian cathedral and the Colonna di Traiano, there is not much left in the vast area.

There is a “Rome” in Everybody's Heart

The moon is bright in the summer night. A boisterous crowd gathers around the Fontana di Trevi, as if to cover up the huge waves of the Fountain of Neptune. We stand back to the water, throw coins, and silently make a wish. People come and go on the square. The heavy dust of thousands of years of has been settled, and "the eternal city" – Rome has experienced numerous stories of extinction and rebirth, and written tragic and desolate epics. Over time, Rome has become a complex, deeply lingering in the world.

Today, this exhibition called "Eternal City - the Glory of the Ancient Rome", across thousands of miles, comes to the East, and starts a close "collision" with the Chinese civilization. History is always a striking resemblance, and the frequent friendly and cultural exchanges between China and Italy nowadays are just like another dialogue between the Han Dynasty and the Roman Empire thousands of years ago.
