Fancy Korean Lantern Festival
Yesterday, Jae-ho Park, the general director of the Seoul Lantern Festival, told the reporter from Chengdu Commercial Daily, that the lantern groups brought here this time had a tradition of over 600 years. "They are made with xuan paper little by little, embodying the characteristics of Korean craftsmen.
Speaking of difference between the lantern groups from China and Korea, Jae-ho Park thought that the Chinese lantern groups were large and beautiful, while the Korean lantern groups were relatively small, but very exquisite. “Now many Chinese lantern groups are made of silk, whereas we are using paper and specially designed light bulbs to make the lantern groups bright and beautiful at nights as in the day.” He also introduced that the lantern groups included the South Korea's civilians, the rich and the palace and the tourists need to experience the specific charms on the spot.
