Jinsha in the “Candidates of World Cultural Heritage of China” Announced by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage

    On Nov. 17, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage announced the “Candidates of World Cultural Heritage of China”, of which, 45 projects were included. It is understood that according to the Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage, being listed in the Candidates of World Cultural and Natural Heritage of UNESCO is a precondition to apply for world heritage. The List is revised every 10 years. In 1996, China submitted the 1st Candidates of World Heritage of China to UNESCO and on Dec. 15, 2006, the 2nd edition was submitted, of which, 35 projects were covered, including the pirogue coffin of ancient Shu unearthed at Jinsha Site.
