Rome is also known as the "eternal city". According to legend, in 753 BC, the Latin Romulusin built a city by the Tiber River in Rome, which opened the ancient Roman civilization. Rome entered the imperial era in the 1st century BC, after the administration of the Monarch (753 BC - 510 BC) and the Republic (509 BC - 27 BC). After centuries of conquest and expansion, Rome developed from a small city into a powerful empire crossing Europe, Asia and Africa, and in the 3rd century AD reached its peak. During the glorious period of the Roman Empire, its architectural art and urban architecture embodied the essence of Roman culture. In addition to its artistic value, they also had a special functional use and social significance, to show us the different components of ancient Roman civilization.
Ancient Roman civilization is both distinctive and open, and it has created its own unique civilization on the basis of fully absorbing the ancient countries of Western Asia, Egypt and Greek, and with its highly developed culture, politics, economy, and military, the Rome imposed historical influence and radiation on the surrounding areas in a long period, and even affected the development of later European culture and art. When the Roman Empire dominated the West, the Qin and Han empires were also the head of the East. In the Western Han Dynasty, Zhang Qian visited the Western Regions, and opened the prelude to the East and West cultural exchanges. The extension of the Silk Road has become a link between China and Rome, which never ended from Han, Tang to Yuan and Ming Dynasties. So far, China and Italy's international cultural exchanges have become more frequent.
In order to make the majority of Chinese audiences feel the splendor of ancient Roman civilization, the contents of the exhibition will be planned professionally by the Italian archaeological experts, and the form of the exhibition will be completed together by the Italian design team and Chinese professionals. The exhibition will not only display a large number of fine sculptures and architectural components related to the important buildings of the Roman Empire, such as the Colosseum, the Golden Palace, the Pantheon, and the Constantine Arc de Triomphe, etc., but also will design a time travel shuttling among the famous Romanian architectures by using a large number of 3D images and multimedia. By using the clues of the important events in the history of the Roman Empire, the design will connect the Roman emperors and the characters with the commemorative buildings they built. And through the display of fine cultural relics, the Roman Empire's politics, economy, military, social life are linked together, presenting the Chinese audience with a magnificent picture of the Roman Empire, showing its brilliant artistic and cultural achievements, and bringing a refreshing and new experience for the audience
