How will you spend this Spring Festival? 2015 Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival brings citizens a different spring festival atmosphere. There is a time travel in Jinsha Site that following colorful lamps, one walks down the silk road, appreciating lanterns and flowers, watching shows, and tasting delicious food.

A thousand square meters of flowers, a photographer’s paradise  

In Jinsha’s flower fair, pansy, tulip, cymbidium, and other precious flowers make up a sea of flowers covering nearly a thousand square meters, and flower rivers and festooned vehicles are in diverse shapes, very enchanting. While a dozen of Southeast Asian-style greenhouses and romantic rose arches are dotted around the lawn, making a charming sight. On the lotus-shaped stage with lighting sets, traditional Han clothing show brings about classical Chinese fashion, while the playing of instruments like konghou and violin displays different charms of the East and the West.

Lantern appreciation, spring festival atmosphere everywhere

The Sun Festival this time is themed on the Silk Road that silk culture-related lighting sets alone use more than 30 sets of colored lamps and tens of thousands of LED string lights. Anyone who has appreciated lighting sets of this year will acclaim this year’s festival as the most culturally profound one. The whole festival is like a dreamland the moment when all the lighting sets are brightened every night.

It is worth mentioning that Silk Road lighting sets start with three paths-Southern, Northern and Maritime Silk Roads and several large lighting sets are elaborately made, including “Flower City”, “ancient Yunnan”, “Desert Journey”, and “Sailing Ship”. Besides lighting sets with Chinese elements, lanterns of African tribal sheikhs and war gods of “Vigorous Africa: African Culture Garden” made with African carvings as prototypes are rare and are well-received by young people. 

This year is the Year of the Goat, so there are also many lighting sets with goat-related elements. According to the organizer, This year's festival especially combines patterns on ancient Shu bronzeware and giant-sized “goat’s horn”, boldly creating giant gate lamp “Golden Goat Celebrating the New Year” with traditional patterns as well as modern aesthetics, allowing viewers to enter the new year with the most beautiful wishes.

2015 Jinsha Sun Festival would last till March 8, and the ticket price remains 30 yuan per person. Here you can enjoy a marvelous time.
