2014 Jinsha Sun Festival

On February 16, 2014, the 20-day Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival concluded to a success. Over 850,000 visitors experienced the unique charm of the event.


South Korean Culture Rocks

On the Seoul-experience ground, the bright South Korean lighting sets, the remarkable folk dance, the original South Korean delicacies, and the modern street dance by the globally leading dancing team rocked. Visitors made kimchi and tried the hanbok on site.


The lighting sets on the ground were distinctive. Two guardians standing by the solemn Seoul Hope Gate welcomed the guests from Chengdu. The visitors learned about the life of the ancient Seoul: how the rich in South Korea studied, took examinations, had a romantic relationship and started a family; the maids held traditional lanterns at the entrance to the imperial palace; and the king and the queen embraced the most distinguished guests...


Miao and the Dong Ethnic Display and Nuo Opera Exhibition

The Guizhou Pavilion reproduced the charm of Guizhou with the light sculptures, the Miao village presented with the lighting sets, the watermills, and the drum towers. The inheritors of embroidery, batik, lu sheng (Chinese music instrument), clay whistle, and silver decorations showcased their skills and works. There was also the Grand Song of Dong ethnicity, the Lu Sheng Dance of Miao ethnicity, and the Pheasant Dance on the scene. The photos of intangible cultural heritages conveyed the charm of colorful Guizhou. In addition to folk dance and singing, visitors also experienced activities like a local, such as the New Year of Miao, the Sister Festival, the Love Song under the Moon, and the Bridge Festival.


The largest Nuo Culture Exhibition co-launched by Jinsha Site Museum, the Guizhou Cultural Palace of Nationalities, and the Beijing Cultural Palace of Nationalities took place from January 20 to March 31. Nuo refers to the ritual that expels the evil and embraces good luck. It brings about happiness, joy, warmth, and auspiciousness to people in a new year.
