Release Time: 2017-03-01
As one of the most primary and brilliant civilizations in ancient world, the ancient Egypt deeply influences the world. From Jan. 24, 2017 to May 4, 2017, “Ancient Egypt: World of Pharaohs and Gods” will have 155 sets of ancient Egyptian relics selected from the Royal Ontario Museum in Canada displayed, including mummies, the statues of pharaohs, the Book of the Dead, bronze statues, etc., leading visitors to learn about the history of the ancient Egypt of over 30 centuries and appreciating the infinitely charming legends and mysterious pharaohs world thereof.
With the completion of work in the pre-stage including exhibition arrangement, security and environmental protection and cultural relics inspection by the customs, on Jan. 18, staffs from both the Jinsha Site Museum and Royal Ontario Museum in Canada (ROM) commenced to carefully check and deliver the cultural relics for the Egyptian exhibition. The cultural relics involved will first be taken out from the case and placed on the desk for check and delivery by the cultural relics transportation company, and then personnel for cultural relics protection from ROM and Jinsha will wear special gloves to carefully check every detail of them, take photos and compare them with the checklist comprising the status and photos before transportation.
In the exhibition hall, the oncoming lighting effects symbolize the shining Nile River, drawing tourists into the oasis and desert of the ancient Egypt. Lots of frescos of the ancient Egypt were integrated into the exhibition arrangement, where the solar ship will take you to the opposite bank of the ancient Egyptian belief and listen to the murmurs of civilization code from pharaohs and gods; the upside down pyramid decoration hanging above the exhibition and the sagging semitransparent yarn divide the exhibition into three areas of “Colorful Life”, “The Immortality of Pharaohs”, and “The Guardian of Gods”, respectively telling stories of people, pharaohs and gods.
Except the displayed cultural relics, many electronic photo albums, video projection devices and interactive touch screens have been equipped to play the documentary and film of the mummies making process and the ancient Egyptian culture on a looping basis; outside of the exhibition hall, on Sinking Plaza and near the Modi River, exquisite lantern groups will tell the stories of nine best known pharaohs in the history of the ancient Egypt and interpret the most attractive unsolved secrets of the ancient Egypt.
