2019 Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival

The 2019 Chengdu Jinsha Sun Festival will take place Feb. 3-20 at Jinsha Site Museum, featuring Chengdu's ancient ritual of sun worship and Tianfu Culture, as well as the Maya Civilization in the Mesoamerica.

The Festival will highlight a lantern show which creates a fabulous world of lights for visitors. Some of the lanterns will showcase the major cultural elements of the ancient Shu Kingdom and Maya.

In addition, visitors can see 214 precious artifacts at the ongoing exhibition Forces of Nature: Ancient Maya Arts from the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, which demonstrate the world outlook, religious beliefs, royal power, art, and social life of the people in the ancient Americas and Maya.

During the event, a flower show featuring Mexican natural landscape and various species of cactuses, as well as over 240 performances will be staged at the venue. Traditional Chengdu snacks and foods from other places around the world will be sold at a dining area inside the museum.
