Upon the annual International Museum Day, the International Council of Museums (ICOM) published the theme for 2019: “Museums as Cultural Hubs: The Future of Tradition”, which represented the future development trends of museums—museums today are redefining themselves, and becoming more interactive, audience-centered, community-oriented, more flexible, adaptive and mobile. They have become cultural hubs, and platforms of creativity and knowledge, where the audience could innovate, share, and interact with each other.
As a cultural symbol of the city of Chengdu, Jinsha Site Museum is willing to interact with the city more intimately with the archaeological poetry meeting, new children’s plays, volunteers in community and other series events around International Museum Day. In addition, visitors may receive a ticket by showing their ID card on International Museum Day and tour the permanent collections and the latest exhibition: The Auspicious Art—Ivory Carving in Ming and Qing Dynasties for free.
