In this exhibition, with a focus on the origin of seashells in ancient Sichuan, a total of more than 1200 pieces (sets) of shellfish specimens and relevant relics from collections of 5 museums are exhibited: Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum, China (Hainan) Museum of the South China Sea, Sichuan Museum, Sichuan Provincial Museum, Archeology Research Institute, and Sanxingdui Museum. The exhibition aims to introduce topics like the lifestyles and habitats of shellfish and their specie characteristics by explaining them in popular science. Moreover, with a comparative display of shellfish and related artifacts from different ages and regions, the exhibition enlightens the audience about their influence on human history.
