Release Time: 2023-06-09
On June 9, over 60 high school students from Chengdu Shude High School came to Jinsha Site Museum. Under the guidance of teachers, students met these old cultural relics in a new perspective. It is said that this is the first program of all included in the serial activities of 2023 Cultural Heritage Day in Jinsha Site Museum. Pro Bono counseling, cultural lectures, Sino-Japanese flower art exchange activities and various programs will be followed.
Cooperation between Jinsha and Schools: From Archaeology Site to Cultural Classes
Over 10,000 pieces of Ancient Shu treasures including the Sun and Immortal Birds Gold Ornament, Gold Mask, the ten-node Jade Cong, etc. were unearthed on the first archaeology site of Jinsha. These cultural relics not only found the urban root of Chengdu but also have provided unlimited inspirations to school instructions.
Since 2021, Chengdu Jinsha Site Museum and Chengdu Institute of Education Science have jointly “moved” school classrooms into the museum, creating the first teaching classroom presented on an archaeological site. This year, especially on the occasion of the 31st Summer Universiade in Chengdu, the English courses have also been added. At the end of a class, students were divided into groups to carry out cultural and creative design based on Jinsha culture.
Experts Interpretation: Remove the Veil of Mysterious Kingdom
Apart from the cooperation between Jinsha Site Museum and Chengdu Shude High School, the Exhibition Hall, “Golden Light Shines Miles Away: Bronze Civilization in Southwest China”, and “Jinsha in My Eyes –A Photography Exhibition on the Ancient Shu Culture” will continue to present a dialogue between Ancient Shu culture and the Bronze civilization in the Southwest of China during the celebration of Cultural Heritage Day. The three exhibitions show the intimate interactions between past and now, cities and museums.
On the afternoon of June 11, Professor Huo Wei, Academic Dean of College of Culture and History, Sichuan University, curator of Sichuan University Museum, plans to tell the history of Bronze Age themed on Fading Mysterious Kingdom—Bronze Age in Southwest of China.
