Over a Hundred Experts Gathering in Sichuan to Discuss the Grand Plan of High-Quality Development of Museums

The Sichuan Provincial Museum Society's Exhibition Committee held its 2022 Annual Conference and Academic Seminar on "Exhibition Curation: New Concepts and New Models" in Luzhou, Sichuan Province on March 2nd. The event aimed to enhance the quality of museum exhibitions throughout the province, promote the high-quality development of museums, and facilitate the exchange and cooperation of exhibition curation practices.
The award ceremony and the unveiling of the new emblem of Exhibition Committee were also held at the meeting. In January 2023, aimed at better shaping the images of Exhibition Committee, strengthening the cohesion between the members and expanding social influences, Exhibition Committee openly solicited for the design of the symbol to its members. After scrutinizing and deliberation, the work “Museum Tree” was finally selected as the exclusive symbol of Sichuan Museum Association Exhibition Committee and also the first one of Sichuan Museum Association.
Sichuan Museums Thrive in 2022, Presenting a Stellar Report Card
Tickets were hard to get, since the inauguration of Chengdu Natural History Museum, the first natural history museum themed on geological collections in western Sichuan. “Gazing at the Lofty Heights, Revisiting Dongpo—Special Cultural Collections Exhibition” aroused a craze. Cultural Collections’ Protection and Restoration Hall in Sanxingdui Museum innovated in the integration of restoration, display and visit. In 2022, Sichuan Culture and Exposition Units handed in a stellar report card.
According to preliminary statistics, in 2022, Sichuan Museum Association Exhibition Committee held 406 exhibitions, including 24 permanent exhibitions and 382 temporary exhibitions, with a diverse range of themes, colorful contents, a variety of presentation techniques and a continuous improvement in exhibition quality.

The Sichuan Museum Society Exhibition Committee Annual Conference drew over 200 participants from museums within and outside the province, including experts, scholars, committee representatives, and representatives from exhibition industry enterprises. The conference focused on exploring effective ways to narrate the stories of cultural relics, enhance the level of exhibitions, promote outstanding culture, deepen communication and cooperation, and work together to promote development. Since establishment, Sichuan Museum Association Exhibition Committee has continued to absorb new members. And a total of 17 new member units have joined in annual meeting. The Sichuan Museum Society Exhibition Committee has expanded its membership to 102 institutions, significantly bolstering its professional expertise and infusing new vitality into its communication platform.
