Jinsha Site Museum Receives Recognition as One of China's Top Ten Archaeological Site Protection and Exhibition Cases

On February 28, the Final Evaluation Meeting for the Top Ten National Archaeological Site Protection and Exhibition Cases Promotion and Recommendation Activities was held in Beijing. Deputy director of Jinsha Site Museum, Wang Fang, delivered a theme Statement. After rounds of competition and deliberation, Jinsha Site Museum stood out as the top ten.
In the final evaluation presentation, Wang Fang, introduced the innovative development of Jinsha Site from the multi-dimensional aspects including protection, research, display, dissemination, and integration of culture and tourism.
In 2007, the Jinsha Site Museum opened its doors, innovatively combining the in-situ display of the excavation, thematic display of the important relics, and the outdoor characteristic cultural landscape, which has attracted tens of millions of Chinese and foreign visitors to the museum.
Zhu Zhangyi, curator of the Jinsha Site Museum, remarked that Jinsha Site's recognition among the Top 10 National Archaeological Site Preservation and Exhibition Cases signifies the academic community's resounding endorsement of the Jinsha Site's development. This achievement further bolsters the confidence and determination of the Jinsha Site and Sanxingdui Site in their joint bid for World Heritage status. Moving gforward, Jinsha Site Museum will continue to solidify the foundation and steadily push forward the bidding of ancient Shu civilization as World Cultural Heritage.
