The exhibition brings together 134 pieces (sets) of precious cultural relics, including bronze ware, gold ware, pottery, textiles, bamboo slips, and manuscripts. These artifacts are sourced from the collections of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region Museum, Chengdu Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, and Chengdu Shu Brocade and Embroidery Museum. Among them are exquisite treasures such as the “Longevity and Fertility” rooster-shaped brocade pillow, the "Hu King" brocade, the replica of the "Five Stars from the East Benefit China" brocade armband, the screenplay of Maitrisimit in Yanqi-Qiuci script, the model of the weaving machine unearthed from the Han Tomb in Chengdu's Laoguanshan, and the Tang Dynasty Pearl-bordered Medallion and Standing Pigs brocade with a red ground. These artifacts bear witness to the diverse cultural exchanges and integration along the Silk Road.
The exhibition is divided into three chapters, namely "The Proto-Silk Road," "The Splendor of Silk Road," and "The Sanskrit Sound of the Silk Road." These chapters present Xinjiang's unique and colorful ancient civilizations from the perspective of "Chinese Archaeology from the Frontier." It vividly showcases the significant role of Xinjiang in China’s formation and development of a unified multi-ethnic country. Additionally, a special section titled "Silk Road Integration" is set up at the end, creatively displaying the long history of cultural exchange between Xinjiang and Sichuan through the medium of Shu brocade.
